Players who register with our association and register in the World Tour Rankings can earn World Tour Ranking Points according to their rankings in each tournament, allowing them to compete with players from all over the world.

Eligible to be a member of Team Japan

Each tournament in the Japan Tour 2025 is subject to the Japan Ranking. The player who is a registered player of the association and also a licensed player in the World Tour Ranking will be able to represent Japan in international tournaments such as the World Cup, Asia Cup, and Pacific Trophy, depending on their ranking on the date and time set by the association.

*Details regarding the holding of the above international tournaments will be announced by the FIFG or the other organizations.

Tour Regulations

Categories

  • Men: All male players, excluding those in other categories

  • Senior Men: Male players born in 1979 and before.

  • Senior Plus : Male players born in 1969 and before

  • Women: All female players, excluding juniors.

Player Registration

  • To earn Japan Tour Points, players must be registered players of the Japan FootGolf Association.

  • Player registration is considered complete when the registration fee is paid to the Association.

  • Tournaments played in as non-registered players with the association will not be eligible for points.

  • The registered players in the 2025 season are eligible for the 2025 licensed players for the FIFG World Tour.

Ties

  • A playoff will be held to determine the ranking and point distribution for players tied for the top position, regardless of category. The holes to be played or the location for the penalty shootout will be specified by the organizer and announced along with the local rules before the tournament begins.

  • If there is a tie for up to third place, the ranking will be determined based on the final 18-hole score (final day) for tournaments with 36- or 54-holes, or the back 9 score for 18-hole tournaments. If the tie remains, the ranking will be decided using the following criteria in order.

  • In each tournament, the playoff will consist of at least one hole and a maximum of three holes. If the tie persists after the playoff, a penalty shootout will take place (each player takes five putts from a minimum distance of five meters). If necessary, a sudden-death penalty shootout will be conducted.

  • If it is determined that a playoff cannot be held due to circumstances such as weather, sunset, or safety concerns, the organizer or marshal will proceed as follows:

  1. The first-place will be decided using the following methods: for tournaments with 36- or 54-hole, the final 18-hole score (final round) will be used. If the scores remain tied, the final 9-hole score will be considered. For 18-hole tournaments, the back 9 score will be used.

  2. If the tie persists, the final 6-hole score will be used.

  3. If still tied, the final 3-hole score will be used.

  4. If still tied, the final hole score will be used.

  5. If the tie remains, the prize money will be split, or the winner will be determined by a coin toss.

Bad weather

  • If weather conditions force the organizer to suspend the tournament, full points will still be allocated and the result based on the number of completed rounds if the total number of holes played is at least 50% of the total number of holes.

  • Before the game, if for any reason (flooding, animal damages, etc.) a hole is declared unplayable, it has to be replaced by another similar hole (same par, similar distance) or cancelled. If more than three holes are declared unplayable, then the entire course could be considered as unplayable and therefore the round may be cancelled.

  • If this happens during the game (flooding, animal damages, etc.), the tournament director has the authority to make the decision to cancel the hole and give all the player the score of the par in accordance to the approved FIFG Local Rule as outlined below. If more than three holes are declared unplayable during the game, the entire course could be considered as unplayable and the general rules of bad weather apply.

Points

  • To earn Japan Tour Points, players must be registered players of the Japan FootGolf Association.

  • Depending on the total number of holes played in each tournament, points will be awarded according to ranking as shown in the table below.

  • Any points earned by players who are not eligible for points will be invalid, and points will not be carried forward or backward.

  • In case of a tie in the ranking in each tournament, the points available to the players will be totaled and divided by the number of players eligible to earn.

  • The Japan Tour Point Ranking is determined by the average points, which are calculated by dividing the total points of the top seven tournaments by seven.
